01Why this converter

Every format, one workflow.

Four reasons this is the page people bookmark instead of installing a desktop converter or trusting a random upload site.

  • 01

    Every popular format, one tool

Swap PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, and BMP in any direction. No installer, no separate page per format.

  • 02

    Quality control built in

For lossy outputs, a clean quality slider lets you balance fidelity and size. The preview updates instantly so you can dial it in.

  • 03

    Instant, even for HEIC

iPhone HEIC photos decode in the browser via WebAssembly — no install, no Apple device required, no upload to a stranger’s server.

  • 04

    Files never leave your device

The whole conversion runs locally. Sensitive product mockups, private photos, and embargoed brand work stay on your machine.

02How it works

Three steps to a new format.

  1. Drop image
    photo.heic5.1 MB

    Step 1Drop your image

Drag any PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, or BMP up to 50 MB. The tool detects the source format automatically.

  2. Format
    JPGPNGWebPAVIF

    Step 2Pick the target format

Choose what you want out — JPG for compatibility, WebP for smaller files, PNG for transparency, AVIF for cutting-edge compression.

  3. Converted
    photo.webpWebP · 720 KB

    Step 3Download the new file

Click Convert and grab your file. Need another format? Switch and re-run — the original stays loaded so there is no re-upload.

03Use cases

Where format matters.

Every CMS, editor, and app has its preferred format. These are the conversions that come up most often.

  • iPhone HEIC to anywhere

Photos straight from an iPhone are HEIC, which most non-Apple apps refuse. Convert to JPG or PNG in a click and share them anywhere.

    IMG_4421.heic → IMG_4421.jpg
  • PNG to WebP for the web

Shrink hero PNGs by 50–70% by switching to WebP. Same visible quality, far smaller payload — Lighthouse will thank you.

    hero.png (2.1 MB) → hero.webp (640 KB)
  • WebP back to JPG

Some print shops, CMS systems, and older tools still expect JPG. Convert WebP downloads back to a universally-readable format.

    photo.webp → photo.jpg
  • AVIF for max compression

AVIF beats WebP on file size at the same visible quality — great for static heroes on modern sites where supported.

    banner.jpg → banner.avif
  • GIF still to PNG/JPG

Extract a clean still frame from an animated GIF into a transparent PNG or a flat JPG you can edit in any tool.

    meme.gif → meme.png
  • Legacy BMP to PNG

Modernise old BMP scans and Windows clipboard exports into the lighter, more portable PNG everything understands today.

    scan.bmp → scan.png

04Picking a format

JPG & PNG vs WebP & AVIF.

06Pro tips

Convert with intent.

A few habits that keep the output crisp, the file size honest, and your workflow snappy.

  • 01

WebP for the web, JPG for everything else

WebP wins on file size in browsers. JPG remains the universal language of cameras, CMSes, and ancient software.

  • 02

    PNG for transparency, screenshots, art

Pick PNG (or WebP lossless) when sharp lines, text, or alpha channels matter. Lossy formats blur those details.

  • 03

Quality 75–85 is the sweet spot

For JPG, WebP, and AVIF outputs, 75–85 produces files indistinguishable from the source at a fraction of the size.

  • 04

    Convert then compress

Conversion gets you the right format. If you need to squeeze further, pass the result through the image compressor.

07Loved by

iPhone users, devs, and marketers rely on it.

  • Every photo my phone sends is HEIC and half my apps reject them. Wirelogs converts to JPG instantly without me having to email anything to myself.
    Chris H.
    iOS user
  • Our hero images dropped from 2 MB PNGs to 600 KB WebPs without a difference my eyes can find. Conversion took one click per image.
    Reema T.
    Front-end developer
  • Client sends a folder of WebP downloads, our CMS wants JPGs. Used to be a half-hour ritual — now I drag and drop the whole batch through this tool.

08Questions

Image conversion, answered.

Quick answers before you convert your first image. Anything missing? hello@wirelogs.com.

01Which image formats can the converter handle?

Input: PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and HEIF up to 50 MB. Output: PNG, JPG, WebP, and AVIF. HEIC and GIF are input-only — convert them to a standard format and continue from there.

02How do I convert HEIC photos to JPG or PNG?

Drop the HEIC file in, choose JPG or PNG as the output, and click Convert. The HEIC is decoded in your browser via WebAssembly — you do not need an iPhone, a Mac, or any installer.

03Which format should I convert to?

JPG for maximum compatibility and small photo files. WebP for the web — smaller than JPG at the same quality. PNG for transparency or pixel-perfect line art. AVIF when supported, for the smallest file at the same quality.

04Will conversion change the visible quality?

Lossless paths (PNG to PNG, WebP lossless) keep pixels exactly. Lossy outputs (JPG, WebP, AVIF) lose a little detail in exchange for smaller files; at quality 80 the difference is invisible to most viewers.

05Is the tool truly free?

Yes. No usage caps, no watermarks, no premium plan, no sign-up. Every conversion is unlimited and identical to a paid tool’s output.

06Where does my image go?

Nowhere. Conversion happens inside your browser using Canvas and WebAssembly. Wirelogs never receives the file, which keeps sensitive photos and unreleased brand work private.

07Why might WebP be smaller than JPG at the same quality?

WebP uses a more modern compression algorithm than JPG. It typically produces files 25–35% smaller at visually identical quality, which is why it has become the de facto web image format.

08Can I convert in bulk?

The converter handles one image at a time. Re-running takes seconds and the original stays loaded, so a batch becomes a quick rhythm of pick-format → Convert → Download.
